Honda Civic Ignition Coil Misfire Diagnosis Before Replacement

Preserve the fault context first

Record all stored and pending codes, freeze-frame data and the conditions when the misfire appeared: cold start, warm idle, load, rain, recent service or fuel event. Do not clear codes merely to see whether they return because that removes useful evidence. Note engine family, odometer and whether the engine is 2.0L naturally aspirated or 1.5T. A flashing malfunction indicator, severe shaking, overheating, fuel odor or catalyst concern requires stopping and qualified diagnosis; continued driving can create additional damage.

Inspect the coil well and connector
